Trigger finger | Trigger thumb surgery
Trigger finger and trigger thumb surgery is undertaken to release the tendon tunnels of the problematic digit.
This surgery aims to improve and achieve smooth gliding of finger and/or thumb tendons, freeing the respective digit up for normal use.
- A day case procedure
- Trigger finger surgery usually undertaken with local anaesthetic
- Trigger thumb surgery is undertaken with a general or local anaesthetic
- Fingers/thumbs allowed to be used immediately within the limits of the bandage
- Stitches removed two weeks after surgery
